*BELLATOR 57 FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS*
Saturday November 12th at the Rama Casino in Canada the Welterweight and Middleweight Tournaments will be taking place. We were contacted by Rob Cardenas of WAND FIGHT TEAM(as in Wanderlei) regarding one of their top fighters, VITOR VIANNA. VITOR will be facing Alexander Schlemenko for the championship, with the winner going on to fight for the Middleweight Title.
VITOR will be wearing our fight shorts(which we're damn proud of) and finally get to see our gear on a top fighter at a big event.The show will be broadcast live on MTV2.

Thump Monkey in the Caribbean
We are proud to announce a new branch for us in the Caribbean. THUMP MONKEY has partnered with fight Manager/Trainer SAM LAYNE in Barbados. We are really excited about this new venture. Sam already has a stable of fighters that he brings with him. THUMP MONKEY will be doing the promoting and hoping to get fights for 2 outstanding boxers in SHAWN COX and MIGUEL ANTOINE. They are both Caribbean TITLE holders.
The latest news from the Caribbean: Miguel "Hands of Stone" Antoine fought in Guyana for the second time this year and won another unanimous decision over a tough seasoned veteran in Cassius Matthews. Antoine improved his record to 15-0 with the win but it was hardly as exciting as his last bout. But don't blame Miguel for that as he tried everything he could to rattle the crafty Guyanese fighter. Matthews who talked a whole lot of smack leading up to the fight, just simply didn't have enough to hang with the young talented Antoine. Matthews continually held on and "hugged" Antoine throughout the contest only occassionally engaging the stronger, faster Bajan, only to tie up again. Miguel who won the Commonwealth Zonal Super Lightweight Title in February looks to continue his winning ways as soon as possible and is eyeing a fight in Mexico in September or October. The fight should have Miguel within the top 35 in the World Rankings. Congrats to Miguel, trainer Sam Layne and Team Thump Monkey!

SHAWN "Sniper" COX finally did make it to Russia for some solid training! The on again off again trip finally came through after much haggling and hassle. SHAWN actually got to meet one of boxing's most respected trainers, TEDDY ATLAS who was there with his top prospect. SHAWN gained some valuable insidite from Teddy and all in all it was a great experience for him. MIGUEL "Hands of Stone" Antoine also has been keeping busy taking fights here and there justto stay sharp. The problem is that the location in the Carribean kind of keeps us off the map and under the radar so to speak. Trainer SAM LAYNE can only do so much to get these guys fights. Its an uphill battle for him! But he stays busy by contantly working the phone lines trying to get them fights. With that being said, TEAM THUMP MONKEY is interested in hearing from anyone that can offer either SHAWN or MIGUEL a fight..... ANYWHERE!! So if anybody knows any fights cards in need of fighters, please contact us here. Thanks! |

Thump Monkey Fight Gear was started because I was tired of seeing all the same clothing for MMA wear. I came up with the idea to add a little sense of humor to the business. Lets face it, most of the MMA clothing lines out there are dark and evil looking. I wanted to break away from that look and bring something much different. Besides, everyone likes monkeys.
